Another year of reading lit mags!
Friends, I’m excited to finally share the full schedule for our Lit Mag Reading Club this year!
If you are unfamiliar with Lit Mag Reading Club, it’s a club where we all get together and read one lit mag each month. At the end of the month, the journal’s editor(s) and contributors to that issue are invited to join us by zoom and answer all our questions.
So far, it’s been great fun and very educational.
All of last year’s interviews are now here, for your viewing pleasure.
Lit mags for this year’s reading were chosen with the following criteria in mind:
journals that publish a blend of genres
journals that are highly competitive to get into
journals whose editors I have not already interviewed
journal editors who would be available to meet with us.
I hope you like the selections and, if you’re not already a member, I hope you’ll consider joining the Reading Club.
As a reminder: Lit Mag Reading Club is meant to be a fun, laid-back and candid space. Participants order the lit mag at the start of the month (typically at a discounted rate), then we meet once to discuss the issue in a friendly unrecorded zoom chat. Participants are not required to read every single page of every single lit mag. Life is busy. Let’s be realistic. Do what you can and let’s enjoy ourselves.
This Reading Club is purely meant to get more of us motivated to familiarize ourselves with more lit mags, see what these journals publish, and to provide a chance to ask questions in exclusive editor interviews. That’s it!
All writers and readers in any genre and at any stage are invited to participate. The only requirement for membership is a paid subscription to Lit Mag News.

Friends, it’s been just a few days since I shared my idea for a Lit Mag Reading Club. I’ve heard from hundreds of people, dozens of editors, and readers all over the world. I’m overwhelmed, ecstatic, sleep-deprived and really truly ridiculously excited.
