Welcome to our weekend conversation!
Is it just me or did the month of May feel VERY LONG?
Maybe it’s because where I live it was so unseasonably cold, and rained so unseasonably much, that summer just can’t come soon enough.
Or maybe it’s because we had to wait 31 ENTIRE DAYS to get here, the last weekend of the month.
But we did it, pals. Indeed we have once again tumbled, stumbled, fumbled, bumbled, wisecracked, wept, cartwheeled, moonwalked, crept and otherwise arrived at another month’s end.
If you are a longtime reader of this newsletter, then you know what that means.
If you’re brand new here—welcome.
The last weekend of each month is dedicated to all of you. Here is the space to share what you’ve had published recently. Don’t be shy. We want to celebrate with you! And we want to cheer you on for all the focus, determination, drive, hustle, resilience, passion and commitment that we know is required to get the work done.
I, too, have something this weekend. It isn’t a recent publication. But since grants have been such a topic of conversation lately, and since it was Mother’s Day this month, I thought I’d share this piece.
Read it here. I hope it helps you!
Now, it’s your turn.
Where did you have work published this past month? Share the link!
Take us through your process. Did you revise as you submitted or was it done and out the door?
How did you find the lit mag that eventually took the piece?
Did you work with the editors on any changes?
How many places did you submit to before the work found its sweet little home?
Don’t be shy. Come on out and step right up and go on and brag your lit mag!
I was excited to have my poem "Like a Hermit Crab" accepted for the very first edition of the new online literary journal, "The Northeast Coast". The poems in Issue I Summer 2025 are a wonderful collection of work inspired by the Northeast Coast region of the US. https://the-northeast-coast.squarespace.com/
I'm thrilled to have pieces up this month on trampset, The Disappointed Housewife and surely! Thanks to those terrific editors and their teams.
