Welcome to our weekly column offering perspectives on lit mag publishing, with contributions from readers, writers and editors around the world.

I’ve heard more than one person say something along the lines of “you’re rarely working on more than one manuscript.” You may think you have three but really it’s one. This comes up in Diane Lockward’s expertly written personal reflections on issues she has noticed come up time and again with Terrapin Books submissions. Shout-out to Erika Dreifus, who writes the Practicing Writing blog, for bringing this to my attention.
