Save the Dates! February Editor Interviews & Info Sessions

litmagnews.substack.com

February is nigh, my friends, and once it arrives it’s a sneakily short month. Nonetheless, those of us in the Lit Mag Reading Club will be reading two lit mags once again. Aim high, dream big!

On our calendar for February we have Pacifica Literary Journal, issue 19.1, & North American Review, issue 307.3, Fall 2022.

At the end of the month we will be speaking to the editors of both magazines.

Those of you who want to participate, you can now head over to this page to find the discount for North American Review.

All events for February are for paying subscribers only. If you’d like to take part, consider signing up today.

For everyone else, fret not. I will be resuming my open-to-all interviews in March.

Sunday, February 5th at 2:30 pm est: Submissions Q & A with Becky

In this fun but informative one-hour session, we will talk all about the submissions process and answer all your submitting questions. Not sure what to make of that lit mag that takes four years to respond to submissions? Feeling generally blah and need a burst of joy, encouragement and support? Don’t know where to send your latest experimental flash fiction pony dog essay poem hybrid? Not a problem.

This session will not be recorded. It’s all very top-secret.

Registration links will be sent in a separate email.

Sunday, February 19th at 2:30 pm est: Submissions Study Hall with Becky

Have you been telling yourself for a very long time that you will start sending out work for publication…and yet somehow you have not yet sent work out for publication?

This study hall is designed for you. In this one-hour session, participants will focus on sending writing out once and for all. You will work independently, though we will all be there to answer any questions and shower you with virtual confetti as you click Submit.

This session will not be recorded. This one is even more top-secret.

Registration link will be sent in a separate email.

Monday, February 27th at 12:00 pm est: Lit Mag Reading Club Q & A with Matt Muth, Editor of Pacifica Literary Journal

Pacifica Literary Review & Matt Muth, Editor

“Pacifica Literary Review publishes poetry, fiction, and creative non three times a year on our website, and we are the best at what we do. We are an inclusive space for the best emerging and established writers. Seattle is our home base, and everything you’ve heard is true: the coffee is good, it rains a lot, and we have the best writing community in the US. Writers from all backgrounds, races, orientations, occupations, and sports fandoms are encouraged to send us work. Professors and baristas will receive equal consideration. Sonnets and memes will receive equal consideration. If it is excellent and gives us the feels, we’ll print it.”

This session will be recorded. The video will be made available for members of Lit Mag Reading Club.

Registration link will be sent in a separate email.

Tuesday, February 28th at 1:30 pm est: Lit Mag Reading Club Q & A with J.D. Schraffenberger, Editor of North American Review

North American Review & J. D. Schraffenberger

“Founded in Boston in 1815, the North American Review is the oldest and one of the most culturally significant literary magazines in the United States. Contributors include important nineteenth-century American writers and thinkers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Frederick Douglass, Edith Wharton, and Charlotte Perkins Gilman; and twentieth-century writers like William Carlos Williams, John Steinbeck, Thomas Wolfe, William Saroyan, and Flannery O’Connor.”

This session will be recorded. The video will be made available for members of Lit Mag Reading Club.

Registration link will be sent in a separate email.

And that’s it!

As always, if you have any questions, drop me a line. Otherwise, I hope to see you at some of these events.
