Dear Friends,
I wanted to share with you an important announcement. As of this week, Lit Mag News will no longer be providing coverage of the literary magazine world.
The news in lit mag publishing has become increasingly hard to keep up with. Editors are frequently changing their roles and the magazines themselves seem to be in a state of perpetual flux, from one day to the next. It has become a chore of grand proportions to make contact with editors in order to interview them, provide commentary on a scene with no central point of focus, and to offer weekly columns on advice about topics that so very quickly become outdated.
For this reason, as well as others too complicated to get into right now, this site’s focus is going to shift, starting today.
Lit Mag News will now focus exclusively on personal fitness. Needless to say, the site’s new name will be Fitness News.
I realize that there are already zillions of sites, blogs, YouTube channels, influencers, and so on, which focus in this area. Nonetheless, I am eager to do my part and I hope all of you will join me on my wellness journey.
We will be interviewing a range of fitness gurus and industry leaders, including authors of books like, Fit as a Fiddle, Squeaky as a Violin! and High Intensity or Low Intensity: Which Type Are you? and, of course, my personal favorite, What Goes Down Must Come Burpee.
Going forward, weekly columns will be dedicated to advice on everything from smoothie recipes, chia versus flax—which seed is best???, and how to know when you’ve spent too many minutes in the sauna (hint: passing out is not always a bad sign!).
News round-ups will no longer focus on the complicated and mercurial nature of the lit mag publishing world. Instead, I’ll be covering the much more interesting arena of flexing, toning, stretching and breathing. You may not think there is a lot of news in the realm of breathing, but lo! With eight billion people on this planet, you’d better believe that breathing ranks number one as an activity of interest.
There is a lot more to say. Please know that I have not made this decision lightly. In fact, it is a very heavy decision. So heavy that my biceps are throbbing right this very moment from its weight.
Now that I think about it, I may lift this decision for a few more reps when I’m done here. It actually feels kind of awesome.
At any rate, my friends, please consider subscribing, donating, flexing, racing, jumping, detoxing, sharing your juice recipes, and otherwise joining me on this exciting new adventure.
And if you have made it far, then…
All right, all right. You know I could not let this day pass us by without bringing you my yearly April Fool’s Day giggle.
Nothing here is changing, I promise! I love covering lit mags, always have, always will. And I love having each and every one of you along this wild ride with me.
We will return to all our regular Lit Mag News content—without altering a thing!—this week.
Be well. Be strong. Be ready.
You had me until personal fitness.
I look forward to your new fitness regime of benchpressing books
