Becky, I thought this was a superior interview. You did such a good job jetting Barbara Lock to explain what she is looking to publish on Variant Lit. I loved how she explained how to add "shimmer." Thank you for this great interview!

Ah, the submission time I cited referred to individual pieces submitted to the magazine. Chapbooks likely do take longer.

I enjoyed this interview very much. It seems to me what Barbara is looking for could also be called a supremely *human* experience. She is looking for that je ne sais quoi that is the shimmer of life itself. I love the way she talks about literature, her general vibe. Thank you for this conversation.
